[ He recognized the voice, which was why he took a minute to respond. He honestly thought for a moment that maybe Goten was trying to get a hold of his actual brother, so he didn't think much of it. When nothing else happened though, he realized that Goten was actually waiting for a response from him.

And in that moment, he realized that he didn't really know how in the world he was supposed to approach his... well, his little brother that he never really had. ]

Um... hey there, squirt. [ Well that sounded weird. ] What's up?

[He perks a bit at the reponse. For a moment he wasn't sure if he did it right or maybe Gohan didn't want to talk to him. It makes him fumble over his words for a brief moment.]

Um, I wanted to ask you something-

[No wait. It wasn't just one question. Actually...it was but Goten's curioustiy is getting the better of him and he has Gohan there anyway so he may as well ask more questions. He does want to learn more about his other older brother. The oldest brother!]

[Goten is even holding out two fingers despite Gohan not being able to see him.]

[ Alright, he can't actually be anxious at a display like that. That's actually too cute for Gohan to not chuckle in mild amusement. ]

How come you don't wanna live with us? Don't you get lonely out there? Gohan--my big brother is really nice. You just can't mess up his desk and books. He's gotten really good at cooking pancakes too. He likes you and I'd....I'd think it be really cool if you stayed with us to. 'Cause you're family too.

[Mom would want them together, he's sure of it]

[ That knocked the air out of his lungs right there. And for a moment, Gohan didn't even know what to say. Goten was a child, he wasn't going to understand the kind of problems Gohan had with the whole situation. But he also wasn't so heartless as to turn away someone who was just trying to get to know him. A little kid who saw him as another version of his big brother.

A little kid who was supposed to be his little brother. A little brother he didn't even know. ]

... It's... it's not that I don't wanna live with you guys. And you're right, sometimes I do get lonely out here. [ He was trying his best to be honest here. He wasn't going to try lying about something like this. ] But... I also don't know you guys. I've never met you guys. I've... never had a little brother like you, Goten.

... And it makes me sad.

[Ow...Gohan's words makes his chest ache. He's quiet for a bit before he's able to speak back up]

But you have met us! And...and if you don't know us you can get to know us. Just cause we're not from your world-time-thing..[He still doesn't get all that. It's confusing. He's going to have to ask Trunks to explain it later.] but that doesn't mean we can't be brothers! Even if we're not brothers, we are brothers! We got the same mom and dad and grandpa!

[He gets the strength back to his voice as he speaks. No way is he leaving it like this. Gohan is still Gohan. He wants to know this Gohan too.]

If you're lonely then you need to hang out with us. I wanna get to know you, Gohan! And Gohan does too!
